The work I do, and why I do it

"I started this work because I saw too many families being handed leaflets when what they needed was someone to listen, guide them, and stand beside them."

Support that meets you where you are

About Meave

17+ years on the frontline of family support, now independent

After more than a decade leading parenting and early-years work inside a UK children's charity, I've stepped out to continue that mission as an independent consultant. The approach is the same one that's changed thousands of family routines: warm, evidence-based, and relentlessly practical.

Trained in Triple P (Positive Parenting Program), one of the most widely researched parenting frameworks in the world, I bring the same methodology into every session, whether it's with a parent at the kitchen table, a school hall of 200, or a commissioning team at a local authority.

FAQ

Questions I hear often

What does a session actually cost?

Parent coaching prices are shown on the parent page. Schools and organisations are quoted directly because the right format depends on your audience, setting and aims. Every enquiry gets a clear written proposal before anything is booked.

What is Triple P and why do you use it?

Triple P (the Positive Parenting Program) is one of the most extensively researched parenting approaches in the world, with more than 40 years of evidence behind it. It's used by the NHS, local authorities and schools across the UK. It gives parents practical tools rather than slogans, which is why I've stayed with it for so long.

Do you work online or only in person?

Parent coaching runs both in person and online across the UK. For schools and organisations, sessions are primarily in person — I travel UK-wide, and virtual delivery can be arranged.

Is this therapy? Do I need a referral?

No, this is action-oriented coaching, not therapy. Professional and self-referrals are welcome. If something comes up in our work that would be better supported by a clinical service (for example CAMHS or a GP), I will signpost you accordingly.

How do you handle safeguarding?

I work to a full safeguarding policy shared with every client at the start of our work, hold an up-to-date enhanced DBS, and carry professional insurance. Full documentation is available on request.
